Shapland and Petter of Barbstaple Shapland and Petter Very large manufacturers based in Barnstaple Devon. Artistically aware they are known largely for their inlaid pieces in mahogany however their oak pieces often have good quality carving, colour stained panels, or stylised copper panels as well as ceramic roundels made locally by Brannam. Like many manufacturers their designers remained anonymous. They supplied stores around the country such as Marsh Jones and Cribbs (Leeds) and Wylie and Lochead (Glasgow). To describe the work by Shapland and Petter in one word . Quality !
